Biometric Gateway Services

Service Description

Our Biometric Gateway provides cloud-based infrastructure that:

Data Handling and Processing

Important: Cams Biometrics does not collect, store, or retain any personal or biometric data on its servers. All sensitive information, including employee names or fingerprint templates, remains within the customer's biometric devices or enterprise platforms (such as ERP or HRMS systems).

During punch events, only essential metadata—specifically user ID and timestamp—is transmitted through our system. This data is routed securely and in real-time to a customer-defined HTTPS callback URL. Our platform acts as a secure transmission layer with no data persistence, ensuring the customer remains the sole controller of their data.

For more detailed information about how we handle data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

All approved replacement requests will be processed within 21 days from the date of escalation.

Renewal Policy

All licenses and services provided by Cams Biometrics must be renewed before their respective expiry dates to avoid termination of access and functionality.

Renewal Reminders

Automated email reminders will be sent to the registered email address beginning 30 days prior to expiry. Please note that issues such as invalid email addresses, spam filtering, or non-delivery of these emails shall not be considered valid grounds for missed renewals.

Reminder emails are provided as a courtesy, and the absence of a reminder shall not absolve the customer of their responsibility to renew on time.

Renewal Timeline and Data Access

Renewals must be completed on or before the expiry date. If a license is renewed after its expiry, access to biometric punch logs via API will only resume from the time of renewal going forward. Any punch data recorded between the expiry date and the date of renewal will not be accessible via API.

Should a customer require access to punch logs recorded during the inactive period prior to renewal, (re)activation charges will apply for data retrieval and re-enablement of historical access.

Renewals made in advance of the expiry date will not alter the license validity period. The new expiry date will always be calculated from the end of the current license period, regardless of when the renewal is processed.

Real-Time Data Push Policy

Fifteen days prior to expiry, real-time push will be disabled. Data will instead be pushed every 3 or 6 hours. However, customers can still go to their API admin to restart the held queue.

License Transfer Policy

API licenses issued by Cams are tied to the specific hardware on which they are initially activated and are not transferable, except under the limited conditions described below:

1. Cams Machines

If the API license is activated on a machine manufactured by Cams, and our technical team confirms that the hardware has failed and must be replaced, we may authorize a one-time transfer of the API license to new Cams hardware. This transfer is subject to verification and approval by Cams technical support.

2. Third-Party Machines

Any hardware not manufactured by Cams is considered a third-party machine. API licenses activated on such machines are strictly non-transferable under all circumstances. No exceptions will be made for third-party systems.

By installing or using our API, you agree to comply with this License Transfer Policy.

Messaging Service Policy

All SMS and messaging services provided by Cams Biometrics are in strict compliance with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) regulations. By using our messaging services, you agree to use them solely for lawful, professional, and institutional purposes.

Any misuse of the messaging services, including but not limited to sending promotional content or engaging in unauthorized or illegal activities, constitutes a direct violation of TRAI norms. You shall be solely responsible and liable for any legal actions or penalties imposed by regulatory or governmental authorities as a result of such misuse.

Sending SMS for promotional, marketing, or any non-educational or non-institutional purpose is expressly prohibited. Any violation of this policy may result in the immediate suspension or permanent termination of messaging services provided by us, without any prior notice.
